Horizon Scotland
Horizon Scotland is a business incubator based at The Enterprise Park, Forres. It is a flagship development designed with flair, dynamism and more than a passing thought for the environment. Managed by New Park since August 2004 it was officially opened in November 2004 by Gio Benedetti. Horizon Scotland covers an area of 1,146m
2 comprising 16 modern office and laboratory suites, combining state of the art global communications, technology systems, variable bandwidth broadband and fibre optic connections. The building has excellent environmental credentials - locally sourced sustainable building materials have been used in the construction of Horizon Scotland as much as possible. These include Scottish larch cladding, sandstone from the local Hopeman quarry, a complete timber frame, sheep’s wool insulation and a green roof.
Horizon Scotland was created by HIE Moray – the local enterprise company responsible for stimulating the economy in the local area. With global changes in investment patterns, HIE Moray looked at new investment opportunities and came to the conclusion that research and development and technology are flourishing sectors and have the potential to create sustainable, high quality, long-term jobs for the Moray area.
New Park manages everything in Horizon Scotland from building maintenance and the use of social spaces to hands-on business incubation support. Other facilities and services include a lecture theatre with the latest audio visual equipment, demonstration zones, a telephone answering service, franking and post services, AV equipment hire, video conferencing and meeting rooms.
