Energy Technology Centre
The Energy Technology Centre (ETC) is Scotland’s centre of excellence leading the development, demonstration and commercialisation of low carbon and renewable energy technologies for sustainable transportation, power generation and the built environment.
Based in East Kilbride, the ETC acts as a hub linking technology developers, manufacturers, researchers and end users to a network of expertise, facilities and resources across Scotland, the UK and Europe.
The last 18 months have seen an increasing demand for ETC services with over 50 technology developers being supported through the delivery of both technical and commercialisation support from within the ETC consortia partners, TUV NEL, New Park, Optimat and Orion Innovations. In addition EU funding has been secured in support of the sustainable refurbishment of the ETC Building itself.
The ETC is however much more than just a physical asset and provides the services of the consortium above delivering specialist knowledge, business development support, and access to potential sources of finance. IN addition to these services and the access to specialist technology development, testing and demonstration facilities, the ETC also provides individuals, companies, universities, and industry support associations with hot desking, project accommodation and secretariat support services.
