North Highland Regeneration Fund

The North Highland Regeneration Fund provide pump-priming money to new ventures and existing organisations aimed at bringing to realisation entrepreneurial ideas which will lead to job creation beyond the nuclear industry in the area around Dounreay.
The fund has initial capital of £500,000 and will look to offer unsecured, low-interest loans of between £5,000 and £50,000. This initiative brings the total socio-economic funding already committed to Scotland by the NDA to over £2 million, and this is only the start.

| Gow's Lybster Ltd, - Engineering and fabrication company, given loan funding towards a management buy out package from the Orion Group, so they could pursue growth opportunities in the oil, gas and renewables arena. |
| Robertson's of Tain (North) Ltd. - Funds provided for a local buy-out from the parent company to allow expansion of activities into marine engineering support and further agricultural equipment retailing and servicing. |
| Whaligoe Enterprises Ltd. - Tourism and catering business expanding at the tourist site of Whaligoe Steps to include outside catering and a new eating establishment. |
| Woodco Scotland Ltd. - Funding/loans awarded for export expansion of their 'eco-house/paneltech' building systems and construction . |
| Whittles Publishing Ltd. - Loans awarded for staffing increases to allow growth in the technical publishing business. Whittles are Scotland's only remaining technical publishers and the enjoy a good international reputation. |
