Secretary of State opens new building at Midlothian Innovation Centre

18 Aug 2009

The Rt. Hon. Jim Murphy MP, Secretary of State for Scotland, has formally opened a new laboratory and office block, developed by New Park within the Midlothian Innovation Centre. The building, which comprises 12,000 square feet of modern flexible space, has been named Stobo House in honour of Jim Stobo CBE, a Director of New Park Management Limited and a pioneer in the commercialisation of science through his involvement with The Moredun Foundation and in the development of Pentlands Science Park.

This development at Midlothian Innovation Centre will allow further innovative businesses to be accommodated at the Centre and represents the first stage in the planned development of the site.
