Murdo Mackenzie MBE

Murdo formed New Park in 1998 following the successful completion of the £30m Pentlands Science Park development for the Moredun Group. As Chairman and majority shareholder Murdo has provided strategic direction and leadership to the Company in its transition from a consultancy group to specialist property developer. He led the development of the highly successful Forss Business & Technology Park, Thurso and in 2003 completed the successful purchase of The Green House Business & Technology Centre, Inverness and the Cairngorm Business & Technology Park, Aviemore. With an ability to provide creative solutions to problems Murdo also led a high profile appointment to the Government of Ontario in 2000 advising on governance and property issues in the development of Discovery District, Toronto.
Murdo is a former President of the Midlothian Chamber of Commerce and holds a number of non-executive Directorships.
Kevin Scott BSc (Hons)

Following early career experience in scientific research and the veterinary pharmaceutical industry Kevin worked closely with Murdo on the development and construction of Pentlands Science Park. In 1998 he joined Murdo within New Park and initially as Operations Director and now Managing Director Kevin has overseen the establishment and management of new Innovation Centres in Inverness, Midlothian, Thurso and Forres.
Jim Stobo CBE DL FRAgS

Jim is the non-executive director and effectively compliments the talents and experience of the two executive directors. He too was part of the Moredun Team – as Chairman of Trustees providing the guiding hand that took the group from a scientific offshoot of the Scottish Office to the state of the art Research Institute based at Pentlands Science Park.
Jim is a well known Scottish farmer and in addition has a wealth of business experience having served as chairman of several companies. He is a past president of the Scottish Seed Potato Development Council and a past president of The National Farmers Union of Scotland.
Neil Robertson BSc (Hons), MBA, MCIM, MIoD

Neil joined New Park, building on a successful career in the pharmaceutical & chemicals industries with Hoechst Roussel, Akzo Nobel, Aventis/Sanofi. In addition he is experienced in business start-up and he still retains an interest in the technology based SME’s he helped to found.
As an experienced director he brings complementary commercial skills to the New Park team. His background is in marketing & general management, business development and strategic planning; assessing client and business needs, and bringing commercial experience to facilities and project management. He is helping to realize innovative and creative solutions for the business and it’s stakeholders.

Archie Paterson FCIBS

Until March 2002 a career Banker with over 37 years banking experience (The Royal Bank of Scotland) in a variety of roles with considerable management experience involving responsibility in the last 6 years for the Bank’s SME business in the Edinburgh area. Through both hands on involvement with customers and a team of Relationship Managers provided comprehensive assistance to both new and existing SME businesses not only with finance matters but also with general business issues including strategic planning, business development, sales and marketing and problem resolution.
Since March 2002 in association with New Park Management Limited has been actively involved in providing assistance to a wide range of SME businesses delivering consultancy and coaching in the areas of strategic planning, management, financial forecasting, financial control, sales and marketing and the sourcing of business finance.
David Williams MBA

On joining New Park in 2006, as Business Development Director for Horizon Scotland, David brought with him a breadth of experience of working in a number of different industries across the World. In particular David had gained wide experience in the IT industry; graduating from programmer through project management to IT Directorships. Industry sectors included oil exploration, space research, software design and pharmaceutical research and within this international experience was gained in South Africa, Germany, Russia, Egypt, Japan, France and Belgium. More recently David created a weekly newspaper in Botswana, the Metro and held the position of Interim General Manager for Botswana’s leading national fortnightly newspaper, The Voice.
On returning to the UK in 2002 he took the post of E-Business Advisor for Inverness and Nairn Enterprise, giving advice to businesses implementing websites.
David graduated with an MBA from the University of Liverpool in 2005.
